Florescence is the 2011 GWN7 Western Australian Regional Small Business of the Year

What an honour it was, when at the WA Regional Small Business Awards held on 11/11/11, Florescence was announced as the 2011 GWN7 Western Australian Regional Small Business of the Year. This was a great win for agribusiness, a wonderful acknowledgement of the support and networking in the Great Southern and a huge recognition of the hard work of our magnificent staff. We woudl like to thank the WA Small Business Commission, the Albany Chanmber of Commerce and Industry and the Small Business Centre Great Southern for all their support in helping us win this award.

This follows our absolute delight when Florescence was announced Albany’s 2011 Business of the Year at this year’s Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry Award Night. On the night we also gained the award for being the Best Small Business with 5-10 employees, the best Agribusiness and winning the Business Achiever Award. What a night!!

This win adds to the accolades Florescence has received over the last few years, winning the Business Achiever Award during the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry's 2010 awards night. This night was particularly special as all our staff were there to help Charles and Lee collect the award. 2010 also saw Florescence become finalists in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards and the GWN WA Regional Small Business Awards.

In 2009 we won the Agribusiness category of the Western Australian Small Business Champion Awards. This was a wonderful acknowledgement of the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in helping us develop this thriving business. The Australian Small Business Champion Awards provide small businesses the opportunity to be acknowledged for the commitment and drive required to succeed. Florescenece penetration into the local market has grown over the past two years by over 800%, while sales to Tesselaar Flowers has increased by 57% in the last 8 months.

We were also delighted to have received a Special award at the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2008 Awards. This was given to Florescence for 'Implementing Innovative Work Culture to attract and retain Employees' and was in recognition of our management and commitment to our workforce.
